Galvestion.png

Galveston SDA Church is a community of believers where Jesus is the Center of our community life and is evident in all aspects of our church life, our ministries, and our interactions with our community. Whether you join us for worship, fellowship, or participate in one of our ministry events or activities, we strive to ensure the love of Jesus is experienced in everything we do and say. We are a faith-based, Christ-centered church family who excitedly welcomes everyone, regardless of age, gender, or race to come and connect with our multi-cultural church family.

OUR VISION

In harmony with Bible revelation the Galveston Seventh-day Adventist envisions itself as a diverse community of believers who are experiencing the life of Christ, sharing the gospel of Christ, and being transforming lives through the power of Christ

Our Mission

CORE BELIEF

Our respect for diversity, individuality and freedom is balanced by regard for community. We are one--a worldwide family of faith engaged in representing the reign of God in our world through ethical conduct, mutual regard, and loving service.

Thus, as a church our core values are:

  1. We value all people because God does.

  2. We value a biblical community where people have the opportunity to minister to and love one another, working in unity towards accomplishing our mission.

  3. We value giving our best in service to God because He gave His best - the Savior.

  4. We value ministry that effectively communicates biblical truth in ways that people understand it.

  5. We value the unique design and giftedness that every member brings to the body of Christ.

  6. We value worship that is authentic and acceptable to God.

  7. We value prayer because it is the key to an intimate connection to Christ.

  8. We value the study of the Bible as means for spiritual nourishment and instruction.

  9. We value the principle of stewardship by the use of our time, treasure, talents, and temple.

  10. We value health through the practice and choice of healthful living.

WHAT TO EXPECT
AT GALVESTON?

HOW SHOULD I DRESS?

Galveston does not have a specific dress code and we invite everyone to come as they are, in what is most comfortable for you. When you visit our church, you will find a wide range of attire from casual to dressed up as "Sabbath Best" and because of our multi-cultural church, you may also find people worshipping in their native clothing.

WHERE TO PARK

Because we are imbedded in a community there is ample and adequate parking on the streets around the church. You find our neighbors to be friendly and accommodating.

GREETINGS UPON ENTRANCE

Expect to be greeted by one of our greeters! They will direct you to the Sanctuary or appropriate class for your children during Sabbath School.

Our greeters will assist you when you enter the Sanctuary in finding seating that will accommodate you and your family. If you have any special requests regarding your preference of seating, please let them know.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Although we appreciate various genres of music our worship style is more traditional, led by a praise leader and worship team that includes the piano. The service begins at 11:00 am and usually ends around 12:15 pm. During the service, you will hear direct readings from the Bible, in various versions and a sermon between 30-40minutes.

When you come to Galveston for worship, you should always expect a Blessing!

OFFERING EXPECTATIONS

We do collect offering during our worship service, but the decision to give is a personal one and it is respected as such. You are free to give during the offering time or allow the offering plate to pass.

CONGREGATING AFTER SERVICE

Galveston considers itself an intimate family with many extended family members. When church has been dismissed, don’t be surprised if you are greeted by people, you do not know! You will be invited to join us for our weekly fellowship meal.
